Euless is named after Elisha Adam Euless, a native of Tennessee who moved to Texas in 1867 and later bought 170 acres of land on the current intersection of North Main St. and West Euless Boulevard. Elisha started a Cotton Gin and a community center on his property, and quickly became a prominent figure among other settlers. The community developed around the land Elisha owned and decided to name the city "Euless," in honor of a successful businessman and farmer. 

Euless is well-known as a comfortable, mid-size community with a hometown feel. Euless is a dynamic, growing city that is centrally located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Whether taking a walk on a trail or a fitness class at the recreation center, the City of Euless has several opportunities for a healthy community. The Euless Family Life Center is home of a fitness and recreation center for families and a premiere Senior Center for active adults. Euless boasts 600 acres of parks, miles of connected walking/hiking trails including a new extension leading to Glade Parks that opened in October 2017. The Leon Hogg amphitheater hosts movies and concerts during the summer and don’t forget about the award winning Texas Star Golf Course. Texas Star is home to award-winning golf with MiniVerde greens, Raven’s Grille.
